Happy Days are here again

Things are going better now that we are back home. The doctors diagnosed Rachael with severe hemolytic anemia and prescribed her additional iron, and a horse pill of a B12 combo vitamin. She takes these multiple times a day
and they will check her blood levels to ensure that she does not need injections to supplement as well. They have no explanation for the episodes of dizziness and her "head fog" as she calls it.
That whole hospitalization was strange and unenjoyable for us all. We are glad to be back to our old daily routine of hanging out as a family, chores, schooling, and raising the animals. In the photograph above, Sam lets Abby see how well ducks can swim. The girls are glad it is summer and FINALLY hot enough to go swimming on a daily basis. We plan to teach them to swim this summer- we will see how that goes. At least they have already been taught the basics of water safety and they undestand that water can drown a person. Still the rule is they are NEVER allowed around the pool without an adult beside them. Violators of the rule do not get to swim for two days. We have not had a single violation as of yet.
Sam has been working on a sailboat. (You can see it in the background of the top photograph.) This project has required several hours of brainstorming and reading to decide on the design that he liked the best. There are many phases of this project, but Sam is patient and enjoying the challenge. When he is done we plan to sail on Kentucky Lake. The boat will hold two or three at a time.
