We had a great Fourth of July. On July 3rd we drove to Nashville to pick up Rachael's sister Victoria. She had flown in to join us for the 4th of July and Abigail's 4th birthday.
We relaxed at home and made a nice brunch. There were no local festivities or even a parade (because we live in a po-dunk little town). In the evening we went over to Sam's Step-relations to watch some fireworks. They concluded early (at sunset) and we came home with over 50 unlit fireworks. We decided to light them off near our house. They were fantastic ( most of them flew or soared up into the air and made huge arial diaplays). We had a great time and the girls enjoyed it very much. We will have to wait another year or so on the sparklers, though, as the girls were afraid of them this year and would not even give them a try.
Here we see the girls with Auntie Tori. They are watching fireworks in the sky. Abby is enjoying it all and Amber is very concerned about fallout from the morters and bottle rockets. We have been studying gravity in lessons and she expected something to fall on her all evening.
