Here we are lighting the SPARKLERS!! Amber and Abby had fun writing their names.We started the day relaxing and had a nice breakfast. The girls proceeded to watch Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer (hey it's Christmas in July) while Mom rested and read a book and Dad milled out some wood for a special order.
Then, in the afternoon, we all went outside to do a bit of yard work-in preparation for a night-time BBQ. After we cleaned, we got the food ready and Sam made "Kebobs" and grilled some veggies. We had a nice dinner followed by a trip to the local Fireworks tent ( out here they sell fireworks under huge revival tents) and then we lit off a few.
The favorites of the evening were the sparklers and the monster snaps-even though those were not fireworks. We had a really nice time together.
It's a Plumello. The taste reminds me of a grapefuit and a pomegranite that is real mild. The girls really liked this. It was Sam's idea to get this and try it as a celebration dessert.
Anna celebrated her first Fourth of July. She liked the new tastes of the BBQ dinner and she liked the Honeydew melon, but she DID NOT like the Plumello. As for the fireworks, she was not sure what to make of them but she like watching the girls and daddy run around and laugh at those flashing lights. The BANG of the firecrackers bothered her, but she did not cry or try to get away.
