Introducing Miss Anna Belle Knowles born at exactly 39 weeks.

We had our baby girl on September 11th, 2006. Rachael had a relatively easy labor ( she had NO pain medication at all) and it was a happy time. The last hour was a bit hard as she was getting tired and was ready to be done. The active labor was only 9 hours and 45 min. but she had been having contractions for a few days and little sleep.
The nurses remarked that she did not seem to be in active labor when she was 9cm dilated because she was still joking around and laughing with them. There was a conversation about painting toe nails at this point. The picture of Rachael smiling was taken while she was in active labor- not after the birth.
Anna was born 45 min. later.
At 11:43 am Anna met the world. She weighed 7lbs 8oz and was 20inches long. That makes her the largest baby we have had.
She had a great set of lungs that she used right away. There were no complications at all-Thank the Lord! The nurses were very kind and took pictures for us of the first few minutes after the birth. Sam cut the cord and then there was a bit of mommy, daddy, and baby time. Amber and Abby were at home with Rachael's mom. The hospital staff waited until later to administer the eye meds. and the vitamin K shot.
We were blessed with answers to our three specific prayers:
1) That the baby would be born natural without any complications.
2) That there would be family here to share this with us.
3) That someone would be on hand to take pictures of the first few
moments after the birth and of Sam cutting the cord.
God is good.

Wow, she's a beauty! Congrats on Miss Anna Belle. We are praising God with you for His goodness in answering your specific prayer requests. What a great job, Rachael! I was smiling and joking too, but only because I had a 'little' help from an epidural! I can't imagine doing it naturally--that's wonderful! Thanks for posting pictures and your story.
Love,
Amy
Congratulations! And what a pretty name. Let Sam know that Scott owns a shotgun now in case he need to borrow it when the boys start coming around.
