This is Sam's current commission. It is a very long and large stair. The hand-rail along the top was bent by Sam as well. Bending rails is something that only two or three people at his former company of 40 stair builders knew how to do. Each stair tread was hand-made by Sam (yes he does mill work too). He made the dimensions of each step a little different as the staircase is a gentle spiral. That took a great deal of precise calculating and plenty of math. This is the result of 1 months work both in Sam's workshop and in the customer's home. Sam will take pictures of the completed project soon.
This is the view from up top looking down the stairs. And below ( along the right of the picture) are the columns along the balcony that Sam also constructed. They are not completed yet.

Flipping Awesome!!!! I saw Sam saw wood growing up but geeze where'd you learn this? I'll fly you out to New Zealand to build stairs in our future one story house just so we can show off our flipping awsome friend built stair case. I hold a copy right on that flipping awseom friend built stair case bit, just so you know.
