The Sam Knowles Band is off and running..

Things went well for the first concert. We did not pack the house as we had hoped to but over 100 people came that night. Real good for a first show. They were screaming for the band they liked it so much!! And, yes, there was some disappointment when they learned that Sam was married.


The night was a success and a great learning experience for the band. Overall things went off without a hitch. But at one point someone got to messing with the sound effects. The person did this while Sam was still on stage singing. Sam played it off well, but now we will be sure to have the sound area guarded. It was a little funny because the person hit buttons to make Sam's words echo and the whole song was done with an echo. The crowd still liked it oddly enough.
Sam got a little tired towards the end. Lesson #2 eat a real meal before the show to give lasting energy. Rachael had a hard time getting an energy bar into him...to say nothing about getting him to eat. That will change before the next show. Sam agrees.
Sam bought 1000 glow sticks off of eBay to give away to the crowd. There were glowing things flying through the air all night. A definite hit!! Everyone was fashioning necklaces and head gear out of them...or tossing them on stage...or just launching them into the air. Not one was injured though. The volume was loud and the energy was high. The group was mostly teens and young adults, but there were older people rocking out too. Everyone LOVED the Sam Knowles Band!!
Sam's thumb was healed mostly and he did not have any trouble with it during the concert- a real answer to prayer. At the end of the 2 1/2 hour night he hit it real hard on a string and got a blood blister under the scar line but it was small and it does not bother him now. Thank you to all of you who were praying for him.


The next show takes us on the road this weekend to Fayetteville, TN. We will let you know how that goes. And we will keep you updated on where the tour takes us this Summer.
