BYE BYE tonsils and adenoids!

On Tuesday, Abby had her first surgery. Tonsils and Adenoids out...tubes in. She was a bit nervous, but very calm and cooperative. Upon arrival to the surgery unit, the nurses showed Abby a selection of pretty pillows and let her choose one to keep. It's the one on the bed with her. Then the nurses told her Squishy Baby could go into surgery, too. This made her a bit more comfortable. As it was time for her to go to the O.R. and time for us to go to the waiting room, I told Abby that if she was scared Jesus would be there with her. She smiled and said " I know mommy." An O.R. nurse who overheard this told me she would pray for Abby during the surgery as well. Then, after a quick hug, she was being wheeled away smiling and clutching Squishy Baby.

Brave little trooper! She is in the O.R. preparation
room all set to go. Squishy baby ( the doll on the bed) is also ready to go into surgery.

Surgery went well and a little over an hour later she was back in her room asking to see her removed tonsils. She was in pain, but as long as she had a popsicle she was not too uncomfortable.

Before and after. Those tonsils were larger than a big shooter marble.

After surgery in recovery with a banana popsicle. Squishy baby seemed fine, but Abby was in a bit of pain.
Here at home she has been having popsicles and jell-o in a constant stream. She has also been in bed watching My Little Pony cartoons online. Tomorrow she will even get to eat ice cream- if she can sit up and spoon it.
