This is the face of a guilty little girl.
The crime: repainting her room after bed time.
Total damages: one dresser,
one wall unit air conditioner, one window pane, one down comforter bed spread, part of an oak wood floor, and various areas of trim
around the room.
These pictures were shot after we had put 1/2 an hour into scrubbing the wood floor in an effort to remove the paint. As you can see in the picture on the right, Abby had set things up along the wall just as she had seen us do in the daytime. Sam had put the paint away in the closet before bedtime. We heard noises 1/2 an hour later and when Sam investigated there was a great comotion and scampering of feet across the room. That was the clue that someting was very wrong. The pictures do not show the full extent of the damage, but there is much to do to repair the damage. We wonder how she accomplished so much in such a short time. And how on earth did she get the paint can out and opened up? Amber was snoring the whole time so we know she was innocent. Abby said she wanted to be just like us. Our childern do watch and imitate- even if we don't think they are even looking.
In the end, we could only talk to Abby about the severity of what she had done and put her to work cleaning up the dresser. We also instated a new rule that ANYONE caught out of bed after bedtime will be punished.
