Sam and Rachael celebrate 7 years of marriage

Well now it is November and time is passing ever so quickly. On the 27th we will have been married 7 years!!!! In some ways it seems that we should be celebrating our 2oth. In other ways we are still in a whirlwind and we say " didn't we just say our vows last year?" It is true that as soon as we returned from the Honeymoon, life went at a running pace and it has not slowed down yet.
We have been through great things together and we have grown closer through all of them.
Over the years, Sam has had 3 job changes, we have moved 4 times and owned 2 homes, Rachael has changed jobs 3 times and attended college, we have become homeschoolers and parents,
we have three daughters.
Pets over the years included:1 cat 5 rabbits, 4 chickens, 4 ducks, 7 goldfish, and a mollyfish with about 8 babies.
We have learned to cling to each other as we have moved around the country and live our dreams together. We have had an adventure and, we must be crazy, because we eagerly plan for more. We have wandered around the country, left the country, and now we are planning on wandering the world. Not this year, but eventually.
Right now we are painters, gardeners, teachers, and builders. It has been fun and that must be because we make it fun. We are not denying that there are spats and bad moods now and then, but we do not have too much of that.
A friend asked what we do to keep the relationship close and healthy. I can only say that we:
remember that this is a covenant before GOD. When times get hard, we pray. There is no option of ending this union. And GOD has the steering wheel for this journey- not us. Sam is second in command and Rachael is third.
We promised NEVER to talk bad about our spouse to others. If we are mad or frustrated about the other's actions, we don't discuss it with others in a way that makes our spouse look bad.
we do let each other have space. Sometimes we just need to eat and then continue the argument....if there is still an argument then.
We take interest in each other's hobbies and activities.
We do not put each other down in front of the children.
We forgive each other.
That is some of what we do to keep things well around here.
And by the way, seven is a blessed number. I wonder what this year will have in store to keep our life at a running pace?
